Lyrics

(A medley of reformation hymns)

Spoken:
God of the Living Church, empower,
Thine ancient might reveal,
Give wisdom for this crucial hour,
And in Thy mercy heal.

God of the Living Church, we plead,
Bestow Thy mighty power:
Thy loving presence, Lord, we need
To save us in this hour.

Sung:
The Church's one Foundation Is Jesus Christ, her Lord;
She is His new creation By water and the word.
And with the vision glorious He longing eyes are blest.
Soon the great Church victorious Shall be the Church at reast.

How firm a foundation, O Church of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word!
Please strengthen and guide, Lord, and cause it to stand,
Up held by Thy righteous, omnipotent hand.

Glorious things of thee are spoken, Living Church from heaven came
With God's seal that can't be broken; I through grace a member am.
On the Rock of Ages founded; God of Heaven, with Thy blessings
Rest upon Thy Church, we pray.

O Breath of Life, come sweeping through us;
Revive Thy Church with life and power.
O Breath of Life, come, cleanse, renew us,
And fit Thy Church to meet this hour.

Spoken:
Nineteen centuries ago the price of admission to the Church all too often was torture, and suffering, and death, and this grim knowledge weeded out the weak and discouraged the hesitant. Now little or no sacrifice is required, and sometimes we tend to regard that which costs little as having little or no value.

Christians of today, take hold. You are the Church. Be strong as men of old. Worldwide church revival must come. Move with the annointing of the Holy Spirit. Live positively; march on; rise up!

Sung:
Rise up, O Church of God! Have done with lesser things;
Give heart and sould and mind and strength To serve the King of Kings.

Rise up, O men of God! The Church for you doth wait,
He strength unequal to her task; Rise up, and make her great!

Lift high the cross of Christ! Tread where His feet have trod.
As brothers of the Son of Man, Rise up, O men of God.
